Anne Berk is a TKGA certified Master Knitter who loves to collect knitting resources and learn new knitting techniques. She enjoys complex knitting, but is also drawn to simple knits, beautifully executed. She feels that her job as a teacher is to make students comfortable, while encouraging them to try new things and discover what they are drawn to. Anne aspires to grow happy knitters, who will get great value from the time and money they spend on their craft.
Argyle socks are classic and have a timeless appeal—especially for men. They have a unique construction, because they are most efficiently knit flat using the intarsia technique, and then joined and knit in the round following the gussets. This class will have charts and patterns for all sizes, from baby socks to adult male, and will show how to modernize the Argyle using new yarns and fun color combinations. Students will learn intarsia, reading a color chart, working duplicate stitch, invisible seaming, knitting a gusset heel flat, various ways to knit and close a toe, and weaving in ends.
