Angela Davis

Angela Davis is a CYCA Certified Knitting Instructor who manages licensing for rock bands by day and knits for fun.  She has taught knitting at Abuelita’s Knitting and Needlepoint, and at Blair I.B. Magnet School.  She lives in Eugene, OR, and is positively wallowing in sheepy, fibery, happiness.

My First Sock (On DPNs)

Come learn the fundamentals of sock knitting while completing an adorable mini-sock on double pointed needles. If you like to learn techniques in the traditional way first or if you already knit socks on two circulars but want to give DPNs a go, then come join us. You will learn to knit a basic sock and we will talk about how the techniques you learn can be used to knit socks of all sizes. We will also turn your mini-sock into a charming accessory to wow your friends at the Sock Summit.  Come on, try it. . . . All your friends are doing it . . . .

Class Level:Beginner.
Class Skills:Students should be able to cast on and knit.

Come learn the fundamentals of sock knitting while completing an adorable mini-sock! If you can cast on, knit, and count a little past ten, then you’ve got what it takes to knit socks on two circular needles - even if you have never knit a sock before. If you are a seasoned sock knitter who just wants to give it a go on two circulars, we promise to keep you entertained while you learn how to transition to this method.We will complete the aforementioned adorable mini-sock in class and talk about how the method that you’ve learned can be used to knit socks of all sizes.  Oh, and we’ll even do something fun with the mini-sock to turn it into a great little accessory that just might be the envy of your Sock Summit friends!
