Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Moccasin Socks

imageBecause socks rarely wear out on the instep, Elizabeth Zimmermann designed these to be re-footable. Knitted from the top: a standard, circular beginning; switch to back and forth for the ankle and instep; then knit up around the instep and add the foot. When tired of mending holes, the foot may be removed and re-treaded.
