Three Traditional Beginnings: Casting On for Socks
This workshop will cover three interesting cast ons for knitting socks from the top down. Each one has a link to traditional knitting from Northern Europe, is elastic enough for the top of a sock, and is also very decorative.

One skein DK Weight Yarn (100% wool, 120 yards in 50 g.) in a light color (MC), and partial skein of same yarn in a contrast color. Set of #3 (3.25mm) double point needles about 8” long. (You may bring circulars if you wish) as well as markers, scissors, darning needle, note paper and pen or pencil. | |
