1. Bring an ounce or so EACH of two different handpainted and/or variegated smooth sock yarns in the weight you most like to make socks with. They should be not too dark and be the same weight and have at least a little elasticity (but not totally elastic like Fixation). If, however, your favorite is fine enough to be worked on needles smaller than a US1, I would appreciate your bringing yarns a wee bit heavier so I can see your stitches better to provide assistance if needed. 2. Bring an ounce or so of solid color yarn in the same weight as the yarn in #1 but in a color much deeper. 3. Bring your favorite size of needles for that weight yarn.
