Pool Repellant Stitch Techniques

Avoid color pooling in otherwise-beautiful yarns.  If you love color, you surely have at least one skein of sockyarn which looked great in the skein… but not in a sock.  There are a number of methods for bringing out the best in multi-colored yarns while avoiding blobs and pooling.  Celebrate that color!  Make it sing.  LynnH will bring samples of some projects she has designed that avoid pooling.  You will swatch several options in class and go home with a handout full of options.

Class Level:Intermediate
Class Skills:Basic knit/purl and knitting in round for socks.
Cost:$75
Class Length:3 Hours
Class Materials:

Bring at least one multicolored sockyarn and at least one solid sockyarn (small leftover balls are fine).  Optional: any unhappily-pooled socks you’ve made, for possible discussion.

Homework:

Using sock yarn (perhaps one that has pooled for you) and your usual needle size for that yarn, cast on, in the round, the number of stitches you normally use for your own socks.  Knit a short section of ribbing, maybe 3/4 to 1 inch, and leave on the needles.
