Oddball Stitches

There’s a world of knitting stitches out there beyond your usual knit, purl, cables, decreases, and yarnovers.  In this class we’ll cover all sorts of oddball stitches that are worked in the round and can add texture and fun to your socks.  Learn about wrapped / clustered stitches, an easier way to do a quadruple decrease, bobbles, and cool laddering techniques.

Class Skills:Knit, purl, slip knitwise, slip purlwise, knit into the back loop, purl into the back loop, yarnover, pass slipped stitch over. (Note: if you don’t meet the pre-requisites, spend some time learning these on KnittingHelp.com, and you’ll be set to go.)

Class Materials:

Sock weight yarn and appropriately sized needles for working in the round - dpns, 2 circs, magic loop, whatever you are comfortable with.  Scissors, cable needle, tapestry needle.

Homework:

Cast on 32 stitches and join for working in the round.  Work 1 inch of 2x2 ribbing, then 4 rounds of stockinette.
