This is a class on sock design. We have all these options for sock knitting: Magic Loop, dpns, 2 circ’s, toe-up, either Middle Eastern cast-on or short-row toe, cuff-down - at least 3 heel options short-row, heel flap or afterthought heel. When do we use which technique and why? How can we fit them to the individual knitter’s preferred method of knitting and the designs each person wants to use? This class answers these questions and more. Free your inner designer!

For Magic Loop, I recommend a 40” circular.) Notions: scissors, darning needle, stitch markers. Extras: calculator, graph paper, paper and pen/pencil .

Find and bring a stitch pattern that you would like to see on a sock. Don’t get too elaborate about it - repeats of 6 or less stitches are best. Please have it charted on the graph paper. Prepare a gauge swatch done in the round with the yarn/needles you intend to bring.
