Beautiful Beaded Baby Bootees

Knit a beaded baby sock that will be fit for a prince or princess. Exciting things happen when beads are introduced into small precious knitted items, and we will be a witness to this magical process. We start at the toe and make our merry way upward, employing the gusset/heel flap structure, finishing with a beaded picot at the top.

This class is taught by: Sivia Harding.

Class Level:Intermediate
Class Skills:Students need to have successsfully knit in the round, using their choice of double pointed needles, circular needles, or magic loop. In their previous knitting experience, students should have successfully completed a sock.

Class Materials:

-50 grams dk weight yarn for the pair of bootees.  Students should use solid or semi-solid yarn, no variegated colorways please.
-150 size 6/0 seed beads for MC in a color that complements the yarn. I do not recommend using beads that perfectly match the yarn color. Please use beads that will be visible against the yarn!
-40 size 6/0 seed beads for CC in a different color.
-One .6mm (US 14) crochet hook.
- Choice of needles for knitting in the round, 3.5 mm (US 4) or size to obtain 23-25 sts/4” over stockinette st in the round.
- Stitch markers.
-The usual simple notions: scissors, darning needle.

Note: A class pack containing all of the materials for this class will be available from WEBS in the Marketplace.  You are welcome to hunt your own materials in the wild, or pick up the class pack.

1 ball Valley Yarns Deerfield in Lizard Green
1 tube antique pearl ivory ceylon 6/0 beads
OR
1 ball Valley Yarns Deerfield in Ballet Slipper
1 tube dk pink-lined crystal ab 6/0 beads (90 beads + extra)
In addtion to the yarn & beads, each kit will contain:
1 Crochet Hook size 13/14

Homework:

Students should have their yarn wound into a ball.
